About Us

Dry July has dedicated in supporting Liverpool Hospital CTC by providing vital funds to improve their quality of life during treatment and recovery. Through our fundraising efforts, we aim to offer a range of essential services and resources, including counselling support, and wellness programs. Our commitment extends beyond medical treatment to address the holistic needs of those facing the challenges of cancer, fostering a supportive community, and promoting resilience in the face of adversity.

With your generous contributions, we can continue to expand our impact and reach even more individuals in need. By participating in Dry July, you are not only abstaining from alcohol for a month but also making a meaningful difference in the lives of cancer patients and their families. Together, we can provide hope, comfort, and practical assistance to those navigating their cancer journey, ensuring that no one faces this battle alone.

Last year's Dry July funds were instrumental in enhancing integrated oncology programs, which play a crucial role in supporting cancer patients throughout their treatment journey. These programs focus on providing holistic care by combining conventional medical treatments with complementary therapies such as nutrition counselling, psychological support, exercise programs, and complementary medicine options like acupuncture or massage therapy. By integrating these various elements, oncology programs can address not only the physical aspects of cancer but also the emotional, social, and spiritual needs of patients, promoting overall well-being and quality of life.

The funds raised through Dry July enabled us to expand and improve these integrated oncology programs, ensuring that cancer patients have access to comprehensive and personalized care that meets their individual needs. From funding additional staff and resources to developing new initiatives and services, every dollar contributed has made a meaningful impact on the lives of those affected by cancer. By supporting these programs, Dry July participants have played a vital role in enhancing the support and resources available to cancer patients, empowering them to navigate their journey with strength, resilience, and hope.

Free to Air TV's for the Palliative Care Ward at Liverpool Hospital

Thanks to funds raised through Dry July 2019, Liverpool Hospital will be able to purchase and install 20 Free to Air TV's for the Palliative Care Ward.

Providing free TV and entertainment to patients that are in hospital for long periods of time will assist distracting patients from their illness. Patients that stay for long periods of time on the ward can be financially impacted, with loved ones spending the last days, weeks or months with palliative patients, also not working have not been able to afford the high cost of pay TV. This will relieve the financial impact.

Currently, patients in palliative care have to pay a daily rate for access to free-to-air TV.
