Funds raised this Dry July will help fund integrated oncology programs

About Us

At Liverpool Cancer Therapy Centre, we are proud to partner with Dry July to support our integrated oncology programs at Liverpool Hospital CTC. These play a crucial role in providing holistic care to cancer patients by combining conventional medical treatments with complementary therapies such as nutrition counselling, psychological support, exercise program, and complementary medicine options like acupuncture or massage therapy.

Last year, thanks to the generosity of supporters like you, Dry July funds were instrumental in enhancing these integrated oncology programs. We were able to expand our reach, improving existing services, and develop new initiatives to better meet the diverse needs of our patients.

By participating in Dry July and contributing, you can help us continue this important work. Your support will enable us to provide comprehensive and personalised care to even more individuals facing the challenges of cancer.

Together, we can offer hope, comfort, and practical assistance to those navigating their cancer journey, ensuring that no one faces this battle alone.

Join us in making a difference today. Your generosity has the power to transform lives and create a brighter future for cancer patients and their loved ones.

Thank you for your consideration and support.

Peter Durrington - Dry July Legend

On Saturday 21st June, ‘Frequent Dryer’ Peter Durrington held a Dry July Fundraiser in Camden in memory of his friend Scott Tully, who lost his battle with cancer in September 2013.

Peter is a Dry July Legend, in every sense of the word. He has been taking part in Dry July since 2012 and to date, he has raised over $70,000 for Liverpool Therapy Cancer Centre through Dry July, and his 2014 campaign has only just started!

Check out some photos from his 2014 fundraising event, and from all of us here at Dry July, we’d like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to Peter and Donna and all the work they do for Dry July.

Additions at Liverpool Cancer Therapy Centre

LCTC is refurbishing an outdoor area adjacent to the new Wellness Centre (a Dry July funded project) to provide an area for patients to gather and attend support groups and sessions. This will include furnishings, a pergola and outdoor BBQ.

The cancer centre is also installing a new coffee machine for patients to access in the treatment waiting area, as well as a patient beeper system which will enable patients to move about while waiting for their appointments.

Liverpool Cancer Wellness Centre

Liverpool Cancer Therapy Centre at Liverpool Hospital used funds raised by Dry July 2012 to fit out a new wellness centre. The centre offers a friendly, supportive environment that provides a relaxed non-clinical area for patients and carers in the South Western Sydney district.

The centre comprises an indoor and outdoor kitchen, beauty room, physiotherapy room, wig library and patient resource library. Services offered include support and education groups, information sessions, occupational therapy assessment clinics, exercise classes, psychology and social work clinics.

Patient Diaries

Liverpool Hospital has been able to offer free diaries to patients using Dry July funding.

Patients use these diaries to track their treatment in a personalised binder. The diary provides patients with a resource to store contact details and other information about their treatment in one place. They can then take these diaries with them everywhere so they have ready access to update them at any treatment sessions.

Treatment Chairs

Liverpool Hospital has used Dry July funds for new and replacement treatment chairs for the purpose of improving patient comfort.

Some of these chairs include built-in DVD player mounts. Treatment can sometimes take up to 6 hours and a DVD can provide quite a comfort during these long sessions.
