This Dry July, my friends and I are giving up alcohol to raise funds for people affected by cancer, in honour of my dad, Ian.
Over a year ago, Dad was diagnosed with cancer, and since then, life has changed in ways we never imagined. It's been a long, exhausting journey filled with uncertainty, countless appointments, treatments, and challenges that no family is ever truly prepared for. Through it all, he has shown incredible strength, courage, and resilience, even on the hardest days.
Going alcohol-free for a month is a small sacrifice compared to what Dad faces every single day, but it's one way we can show him that we're behind him. We want him to know that he doesn't have to carry this burden alone. My friends and I will be with him every step of the way, cheering him on, supporting him, and reminding him that he's surrounded by people who love him.
