Dry July 2025 funds will help Barwon Health fund its patient transport service and wellness and supportive care programs at the Andrew Love Cancer Centre.
Barwon Health's free patient transport service ensures that cancer patients can reach critical appointments such as chemotherapy and specialist care. Last year alone, volunteer drivers provided nearly 400 trips per month, preventing missed treatments and hospitalisations.
Thanks to Dry July 2025 participants, Barwon Health can also provide comfort and care therapies and wellness programs delivered at the Andrew Love Cancer Centre. The therapies include exercise and art therapy which provide patients receiving treatment both as inpatients and day stay patients with physical, mental and emotional health benefits. The funds will also support activities within the Wellness Lounge.
"Because of your heartfelt support of Dry July 2025 and Barwon Health's Andrew Love Cancer Centre, you have made an extraordinary impact on people in our community facing cancer. Because of you, local cancer patients can access vital care, comfort and wellness therapies here in Geelong, when they need them most.
It means a wig that restores confidence, a yoga session that eases anxiety, and a volunteer driver who ensures transport to vital treatment. You have also helped to provide crucial equipment and other wellness therapies that directly enhances patient care.
Thank you for standing so compassionately beside our community and for making a lasting difference - close to home."
