Most of you know I don’t mind a wine or two, so this will probably come as a bit of a shock!
This year I’m participating in Dry July… by default. I think it still counts!
On 16 June, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. The last few weeks have been a whirlwind of appointments, scans, biopsies, and countless tests. Thankfully, I have a good prognosis, and I know how fortunate I am.
On Tuesday, I started my first round of chemotherapy. It has been the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced. I’m exhausted, weak, and in pain. But I also know this is temporary, and I know I’m going to be okay.
What has become so clear to me already is how much support people going through cancer need—not just medical treatment, but practical, emotional, and financial support too. That’s why I’ve decided to use my unexpected Dry July to raise money for the incredible services that help cancer patients and their families.
If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, I’d be so grateful. If you can’t, sharing this post or simply cheering me on means just as much.
Thank you for all the love and support you’ve already shown me. It truly means the world.
