Why I’m Taking Part

I’m taking on Dry July as a major personal challenge and to support an incredible cause. If I’m being completely honest, I’ve been incredibly worried and scared in the buildup to today. Giving up alcohol for a month is a massive mental hurdle for me, and I’m going to need all the support I can get to make it through.

But I have the best reasons to try. This year, I’m fundraising specifically for the Mark Hughes Foundation in memory of a dear friend, Will Simons, who fought a brave two-year battle with a Glioblastoma brain tumour. This month is about honoring those we've lost to illness and addiction, proving what’s possible, and raising vital funds to help others. Thank you for any support, I really appreciate every single one of you.
