What if one day without alcohol could fund hope?
Australians spend billions each year on alcohol and tobacco — products linked to cancer risk.
Alcohol: about $18–19 billion a year.
Tobacco: about $9–10 billion a year.
Combined: around $27–29 billion a year.
That means just one day of national alcohol and tobacco spending is worth almost $80 million.
Imagine redirecting even a small part of that into cancer care, prevention, research and support for families affected by cancer.
This July, I’m taking part in Dry July Foundation to raise funds for people affected by cancer, in memory of Brian and Barry — both taken by cancer well before their time.
Most of us know someone affected by cancer. A friend. A parent. A partner. A colleague. A neighbour.
Dry July Foundation is a simple way to do something practical.
Skip a drink. Donate the cost. Support the care.
