This July, we’re taking on the Dry July challenge with one goal in mind: to raise $5,000 to support those affected by cancer.

For us, this is far more than giving up alcohol for a month—it’s deeply personal.

In 2012, Damian lost his amazing grandmother, Rose, after her courageous battle with cancer. Just a year later, life dealt us both another devastating blow. In 2013, Damian lost his father, and Shane lost his mother. Like so many families, we’ve experienced the heartbreak, grief and lasting impact that cancer and illness can have on the people we love most.

Today, our motivation is even closer to home. One of Shane’s friends is currently battling Stage 4 bowel cancer. Watching someone face such an incredibly difficult journey reminds us that cancer doesn’t discriminate—it touches families, friends, workplaces and entire communities.

By going alcohol-free for the month of July, we’re making a small personal sacrifice in the hope of making a meaningful difference. Every dollar raised helps fund services that provide comfort, practical support and care for people undergoing cancer treatment, as well as their families, when they need it most.
