Your Dry July fundraising helps us support Cancer Council Australia's 13 11 20 Information and Support Line.

The national service provides cancer-specific information, as well as emotional and practical support to more than 37,000 callers across Australia each year.

The 13 11 20 line operates from Monday-Friday, 9-5pm.

Reproductive survivorship care for AYA and adult cancer patients possible thanks to Dry July fundraising

Thanks to the fantastic efforts of Dry July 2020 participants, The Prince of Wales Hospital will be using funds to improve the wellbeing of people affected by cancer.

This year, funds will be helping The Prince of Wales Hospital provide reproductive survivorship care for adolescents and young adults, as well as adult cancer patients.

Dry July 2020 funds help Royal North Shore Hospital purchase new chemotherapy chairs

With the help of Dry July 2020 funds, Northern Sydney Cancer & Palliative Care Network based at Royal North Shore Hospital will be purchasing new chemotherapy chairs.

Chemotherapy chairs are vital in improving comfort for cancer patients enduring long periods of treatment.

Dry Julyers, you should be so proud for helping to improve the comfort, care and wellbeing for people affected by cancer.

Flinders Foundation to purchase a Fibroscanner thanks to Dry July fundraising

Thanks to the outstanding efforts of Dry July 2020 participants, Flinders Foundation will be purchasing a FibroScan - vital equipment which allows a non-invasive way of assessing the amount of fibrosis or scarring in a liver, without the need for an invasive liver biopsy.

The amount of fibrosis is a critical risk factor for liver cancer – the more fibrosis, the greater the risk of cancer. By detecting liver issues earlier through a FibroScan, more immediate intervention and treatments can be initiated which will lead to better patient outcomes.

Dry July 2020 participants support will truly be life-changing for many South Australians, including those visiting clinics at Flinders Medical Centre and in remote indigenous communities.

Dry July 2020 funds support the continuation of CoastCanCare’s Wellness Program

Thanks to the incredible efforts of Dry July participants, CoastCanCare’s Wellness Program will be supported.

The Wellness Programs held at Central Coast LHD aim to improve patient's and carer's wellbeing by providing information, education, and support services. The development of these vital skills can assist in developing skills for coping with a cancer diagnosis, treatments, and treatment side effects, such as fatigue, pain, and anxiety.

Leukaemia Foundation's Blood Cancer Support Coordinators are supported thanks to Dry July fundraising

In the scary times that follow a blood cancer diagnosis, Blood Cancer Support Coordinators help families navigate the health system, share vital information to understand a diagnosis, and help access important services like accommodation close to life-saving treatment.

Here, Maddy shares a heartfelt thank you for the help she received from her Blood Cancer Support Coordinator throughout her son Darcy's cancer journey.

Dry July funds enable wellness activities to continue at Choices Cancer Support Centre

Dry July fundraising plus a generous grant from Dry July Foundation has enabled Choices Cancer Support Centre to continue to provide the following programs for people affected by cancer in our community.

1. Men's and Women’s Choices Gym Maintenance Program

For people completing cancer treatment, research demonstrates that maintaining an exercise program is an important factor in mitigating late and long-term side effects of cancer and cancer treatment. The exercise program also allows people to connect to others who are experiencing similar circumstances. Overall, this engagement can improve the mental health and wellbeing of our patients and directly impact their recovery.

2. Art, Writing, Music Therapies

Dry July fundraising helps llIawarra Cancer Care Centre to purchase 10 new chemotherapy chairs

With the help of Wollongong Hospital's Dry July supporters, $50,728 was raised!

These funds will purchase five new chemotherapy chairs for llIawarra Cancer Care Centre and they have also received grant funding for a further five chairs! Illawarra Cancer Care Centre will also continue our ongoing Dry July funded programs and initiatives.
