About Us

The NWCC and Inala House (accommodation for cancer patients) enable patients who previously had to travel away from the region for radiotherapy treatment to have their treatment closer to home, where they can be better supported by their families and friends.

The NWCC provides out-patient treatments and clinics for medical oncology, radiation oncology, and haematology patients.

Tamworth is a central hub for cancer patients in the New England and North West region and the community was excited to have radiotherapy added to the cancer services provided to the region.

The NWCC has a day infusion unit with 12 chairs and 2 beds where chemotherapy and supportive treatment/therapies are delivered Monday to Friday.

Clinics offered include medical oncology, radiation oncology, haematology, palliative care, genetics counselling, telehealth gynae-oncology, and young adult oncology clinics amongst others.

Latest Updates

North West Cancer Centre continues to provide comfort and support services thanks to Dry July 2023 funds

The North West Cancer Centre provides out-patient treatments and clinics for medical oncology, radiation oncology, and haematology patients.

The funds raised from Dry July 2023 are helping support the exercise programs offered at the centre.

Your Dry July fundraising is helping patients and their carers access treatment at the North West Cancer Centre

We are beyond grateful for your fundraising efforts and are delighted to announce that with your help North West Cancer Centre Tamworth raised an astounding $10,853!

By taking part in Dry July, you’ve helped fund accommodation for patients and their carers accessing treatment at the North West Cancer Centre.

Your fundraising has helped ensure all patients having treatment at the North West Cancer Centre can access accommodation without any out of pocket costs. Extra expenses like this are often a barrier to rural people accessing lifesaving cancer treatments.

When Inala House is fully booked, the centre sources and pays for other accommodation facilities on behalf of the patients so that they are not disadvantaged due to financial reasons.

On behalf of North West Cancer Centre Tamworth, we would like to thank you for your support and contribution to making a positive difference in the lives of people living with cancer.

Dry July funds enable free accommodation and transport services at North West Cancer Centre

Your Dry July fundraising has enabled all patients of the North West Cancer Centre to access FREE accommodation and transport to treatment services while undergoing their treatment.

When Inala House is at capacity the North West Cancer Centre sources, books and pays for other accommodation facilities on their behalf so that these patients are not disadvantaged due to the financial costs involved.

The four transport to treatment services that run out of Tamworth, Armidale and Narrabri continue to be highly utilised and your fundraising money will continue to allow these services to be provided free of charge to those who need them.

This service wouldn't be possible without you, Dry Julyers - you should be so proud.

2018 Campaign Funds go towards Comfortable Wheelchairs, Garden Therapy and new Kitchen Supplies

Funds raised during the 2018 Dry July Campaign are being put to good use at North West Cancer Centre, Tamworth.

Plants, seeds and equipment have been purchased for the garden area at Inala House where patients can be distracted by taking part in some gardening therapy. Pictured are patients planting out and adding to the existing vege patch.

Replacing wheelchairs at Inala House was also a top priority this year. The new wheelchairs will be purchased early in 2019. Kitchen appliances are also being updated thanks to the funds and so cooking in the centre will be more enjoyable too.
