This July, I’m taking on Dry July to raise funds for our ward and support the incredible patients and families we care for every day on 7B.
Working on a leukaemia ward means meeting people whose lives have been turned upside down by a difficult diagnosis. Despite everything they face — long admissions, challenging treatments, uncertainty, and setbacks along the way — our patients continue to show unbelievable strength, resilience, hope, and positivity. Their courage is something that inspires me daily, and supporting them through their journey is the very least I can do.
Dry July is also a personal challenge for me — an opportunity to improve my own health and wellbeing while raising money for a cause that means so much to me. Every donation, big or small, helps provide comfort, support services, and resources that can make a real difference to patients during one of the toughest times in their lives.
Most importantly, this challenge brings together the 7B ward, our friends, families, and wider community for a common cause: supporting people affected by blood cancer. I’m so grateful for any support along the way and proud to be part of a team making a positive impact together.
