My dad passed away from an aggressive lung cancer in July 2025. During his illness, he was fortunate to receive exceptional support through the Royal Melbourne and Peter Mac.

His experience reinforced the importance of access to quality care, which is why I’ve decided to give Dry July a go, with proceeds going to the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre.

While the centre provides terrific care, people in regional areas can still face extra barriers to accessing the same services available in metropolitan centres.

While Dad would be horrified by the idea of a dry July, he’d be chuffed to know that, a year on, his story might contribute in some small way to the care of other people experiencing something similar.
