Help people affected by cancer. Read more...
Living with cancer poses significant challenges for people in rural and regional Australia, with limited access to healthcare and transportation often resulting in poorer health and wellness outcomes. For those caring for loved ones, it can feel even lonelier and tougher without the support available in big cities (Cancer Council).
Taking all of this into consideration, Robyn Yates OAM introduced the visionary concept of Cancer Wellness Support in 2005. Powered by collective compassion and the extraordinary spirit of giving, Cancer Wellness Support has thrived, supporting local people living with cancer and their families across the Blue Mountains and Nepean-Hawkesbury region.
This year marks 21 years of holistic, person-centred care that was built on participation and collaboration. This has been enabled through community generosity and is 100% self-funded through membership fees, op-shops, donations, bequests, fundraising events and sponsorship.
This unique model has allowed Mousa, after being diagnosed with cancer in early 2025, to find a place where he found "a place of calm in the storm".
Mousa’s trusted practitioner referred him to Cancer Wellness Support. From day one, Mousa’s experience was grounded in care and professionalism.
Mousa’s journey as a client is highlighted below.

Important Note
Dry July is a fundraising campaign aimed at challenging social drinkers to change their habits for a month and make some healthy lifestyle changes. We would encourage people to drink responsibly and stick to the recommended daily guidelines for the rest of the year. We advise heavy drinkers or people dependent on alcohol to speak with their GP before signing up to Dry July.
