Why I’m Taking Part

I’m challenging myself to go ‘Dry for July’ because I have seen first hand the impact of cancer on my family, friends, and my patients in my work environment. It is all consuming and devastating.

Currently I two family members and one of my childhood friend’s parents are battling terminal cancer. I feel so helpless but going ‘Dry for July’ is one tangible positive thing I can do that will help someone on a similar path. I’d also like to challenge myself to create more healthier habits to relax and unwind that doesn’t involve an alcoholic beverage.

I would so appreciate it if you can support me.
Maybe give up one coffee, beer or vino to make a donation? Anything will be so appreciated!

All of my proceeds are going towards the Gold Coast Hospital Foundation.

Status Update

Wow tomorrow is day 31!!! I was motivated by my daughter Violet. It’s her birthday tomorrow and many years in the past we talked about the possibility of me doing dry July. Violet isn’t a drinker so she was the perfect support for me. I’ve been very sad about the people around me battling cancer so I guess now was the right time for me to tackle a sober month. I feel amazing and my health physically and mentally is in a place it hasn’t been before. I plan to continue it beyond this month. Thank you SO much to all that have supported me. I understand some aren’t in a financial position atm but even those that couldn’t contribute monetary wise have still supported me with words of encouragement. Thank you to you all 🙏🏻
