Well it's the 1st August, and I am completely blown away by everyone's generosity and support of my challenge - heartfelt thanks to you all for your support of people living with cancer.
My name is Dr Lucy Forrest and I am the Music Therapist with the Alfred Health Palliative Care Team.
The Music Therapy Program is funded through the generous support of Dry July, and it is my absolute privilege to share music with patients and families as they are cared for at The Alfred, whether they have just received news of a new diagnosis, or they are receiving end of life care. You can read more about my work at The Alfred here: https://www.alfredhealth.org.au/news/dry-july-is-music-to-our-ears/
Like many of you, I have also been personally touched by cancer, and this year I undertake this challenge in support of my dear friend Michael Gregory as he undergoes treatment for cancer.
Alcohol is not a significant part of my life so this Dry July I am giving up my beloved coffee and chocolate.
Please support my Dry July challenge by making a donation, and joining me for a cup of tea!
All donations to my challenge will go towards supporting cancer and palliative care patients and their families at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne.
Thank you for your support.
