I'm going dry because I lost my best friend to cancer. She was only 40 and left behind a husband and 3 beautiful, young children.
I'm going dry because one of my colleagues was diagnosed with Ovarian tumours this year. Luckily they were benign but there is a lot of mental and emotional stress during the process.
I'm going dry because my son lost his friend at the young age of 18 to a rare form of cancer. He spent the last few years of his life in and out of hospital. Had to give up his basketball and other sports. Missed out on so many parties and those crucial teenage years. He left behind his parents and 2 young brothers.
I'm also going dry for my aunt and girlfriends who have had to battle cancer but have beaten it. For all the uncertainty and their pain and suffering.
