While you take a break from alcohol, you can ensure our commitment to care continues.

By going Dry this July, you will be supporting women to live their best life beyond cancer.

Mater’s Women’s Wellness After Cancer Program (WWACP) aims to support women within our care to not only survive but thrive following their cancer diagnosis.

The WWACP will help mitigate the considerable personal and social costs of treatment experienced by women with early-stage female-specific cancers at all Mater facilities.

This online-enabled program can be delivered irrespective of a woman’s geographic location, so these benefits will apply equally to rural, regional, and metropolitan patients of Mater.

With your generous support from last year’s Dry July campaign, patients are now accessing the 12-week program, focusing on physical activity, healthy eating and better sleep and lifestyle habits. Your support will ensure continued support for patients to access this program.

It is a heartbreaking reality that one in two Queenslanders will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime—meaning each day around 70 Queensland families are blindsided by a cancer diagnosis. *

There is no minimum fundraising amount or cost to sign up to Dry July!

Golden Tickets

If you have a special occasion in July, you can always buy a Golden Ticket. A Golden Ticket gives a Dry July participant a night off their challenge. For a minimum $25 donation, even a night off can still make a difference to the lives of people affected by cancer.

Important Note

Dry July is a fundraising campaign aimed at challenging social drinkers to change their habits for a month and make some healthy lifestyle changes. We would encourage people to drink responsibly and stick to the recommended daily guidelines for the rest of the year. We advise heavy drinkers or people dependent on alcohol to speak with their GP before signing up to Dry July.
