Australian Bitters Mocktail Recipes

Black Basil PalmerBlack Basil Palmer

  • 90 ml. Black tea
  • 45 ml. fresh lemon juice
  • 45 ml. basil infused simple syrup
  • 4 dashes of Barrel Spice Australian Bitters

Shaken, served in a Collins glass over fresh ice

Garnish with a Basil leaf

*At home version, just use regular simple syrup and instead muddle and shake fresh basil in with the cocktail to obtain the infusion that way.


Coconut Chia Horchata

Make large batch, keep & serve chilled

Make rice/coconut milk by soaking 4 cups white rice/dried coconut flakes and 4 cinnamon sticks in 10 cups of water for 3 hours.

Blend mixture in a food processor until well combined.

Fine strain through a sieve with cheesecloth.

Add 2 cups rich coconut milk, 1 tablespoon vanilla extract, and 1 ½ cup of white sugar, stir well until everything is combined.

Shake 180 ml. of horchata with fresh ice and 4 dashes of Barrel Spiced Australian Bitters, serve over large format ice in a chilled rocks glass, garnish with a small scoop of coconut milk-soaked chia seeds and light sprinkle of cinnamon.

*At home version, infuse (store bought) rice/coconut milk with cinnamon, vanilla, add sugar to taste, add Australian Bitters to taste, shake in a cocktail shaker, serve over ice.



Down Under Shift Drink - DUSD

90 ml. fresh red capsicum juice

20 ml. chipotle syrup

30 ml. lemon juice

2 dashes Grapefruit Australian Bitters

Rocks glass with ½ chilli salt rim

Shake, serve over large format ice

Garnish with mint sprig

*At home version, combine15 ml. chipotle sauce, 20 ml. agave, tablespoon of hot water, and 90 ml. of red capsicum juice or similar vegetable juice, and the juice of ½ a lemon. Shake in cocktail shaker, pour into rocks glass, garnish with mint.


Green and Lean

90 ml. Fresh green apple juice

45 ml. Fresh cucumber juice

20 ml. Fresh lemon juice

20 ml. Jalapeño infused simple syrup

3 dashes of Aromatic Australian Bitters

Shaken & poured into a chilled rocks class, neat

Garnish with a cucumber wheel.

*Without a juicer to obtain fresh juices, opt for store bought apple juice and muddle 2/3 pieces of cucumber and 1 slice of jalapeño and shake ingredients vigorously and then strain into a chilled glass.


The Lisalockstail - inspired by Lisa Oldfield

90 ml. Fresh orange juice

60 ml. fresh grapefruit juice

20 ml. fresh ginger juice

15 ml. agave syrup

3 dashes of Grapefruit Australian Bitters

Carbonated in soda siphon

Garnish with a piece of candied ginger or grapefruit peel

Served in a Collins glass over fresh ice, striped straw

*At home version, without a juicer, muddle the ginger component in a mixing glass, shake, and then strain out into a Collins over fresh ice and top with 45 ml of soda from the bottle..


Turmeric Tonic

Healthy Drinking tonic - Large batch format

3 cups apple cider vinegar

2 cups turmeric Juice

1 cup fresh mango puree

3 cups simple syrup

1 cup water

12 dashes of Orange Australian Bitters

Batch out and shake 3-4 ounces with ice

Serve in rocks glass with one large format ice cube

Garnish with edible flower

*Can replace turmeric powder for juicing turmeric root at home, buy mango concentrate. Combine all ingredients and store for weeks in fridge, partaking in 3-4 ounce instalments.
