Bio

Mikey Robins is one of Australia's best loved, intelligent, hilarious and in-demand entertainers whose long-standing broadcast career has led to his being one of the country's most recognised faces and voices. This is not least of all for his integral role on the iconic Good News Week, whose remarkable and welcome return to Australia television, has won timeslot and key demographic ratings each week on Network Ten. Of course, Mikey's used to winning timeslot and demographic ratings; before Good News Week, he spent seven successful years behind the microphone as host of Triple J's Breakfast show. He's also had key roles in Drive and Breakfast shows on Triple M and Vega FM.

In addition to the legendary Good News Week (and offshoots Good News Weekend and Good news Week Night Lite) first on ABCTV and then on Network Ten, Mikey devised and hosted a series of humorous documentaries, also for Network Ten, on Australians and their favourite pubs. The success of this series led to shows being filmed in Ireland and Las Vegas. Mikey has fronted his own show, the ad-based Campaign, for Foxtel. He also fronted the Foxtel Movie Network's ad campaign Hollywood Head2Head - in which viewers were able to vote for the movie they most wanted to see on a Saturday night. Other television credits include Live & Sweaty and McFeast, and regular guest appearances on The Fat, all on ABCTV, and 110% Tony Squires for the Seven Network.

What with the broadcast work, it's easy to forget that Mikey's got other strings to his bow - not just as a writer, having co-authored Three Beers and a Chinese Meal with Helen Razor and Big Man's World with Tony Squires and The Sandman - but as a live comic, which is how he began his career. Mikey's quick wit, intelligent humour and extensive experience ensure his excellence as a debater, public speaker, MC and host of corporate events. Mikey's many satisfied clients include former Australian Prime Minister Gough Whitlam, whose 85th birthday he MC'd. Most recently, Mikey returned to the stage with mate and colleague The Sandman for his festival show Exit The Sandman.
