Bio

Melissa is a classically trained pianist and flautist, and an Honours Drama Graduate from Flinders University, South Australia. She started her singing and drama career at Pembroke School where she appeared in "Waiting for Godot" and as Anita in "West Side Story", also singing and playing with the band and orchestra.

Critically-acclaimed in "Blue Eyed Soul" at last year's Fringe, Melissa took her "amazing" voice to study in New York in May 2009 and featured in the recent New York Musical Festival. The show "Blue Eyed Soul" celebrates the British queens of soul, Sandie Shaw, Petula Clark, Cilla Black,Dusty Springfield and Lulu.

Prior to that she appeared in Shane Davidson's "Oliver!" as Nancy. Her theatrical career includes seasons with Adelaide's Therry Society's "A Child's Christmas in Wales" and "High Society" and the Adelaide University Theatre Guild's "Spring Awakening" as Headmistress Sunstroke, Gilbert and Sullivan Society's "Pirates of Penzance" and The MS Society's "Shout" and "My Fair Lady" and performing with Toni Lamond in "OneManShane".
