Bio

Danny Clayton didn't have to decide what he wanted to be when he grew up. Even before he was out of high school, Channel [V] had marked him as a superstar [V]J of the future when he first appeared on screen back in 2004 as the winner of the Snapper competition. Since his debut, Danny has fast become one of this country's stand out talents.

Danny's natural charisma, larrikin disposition, and no holds barred attitude, as well as his knowledge and love of music, make him a firm favourite among Channel [V] viewers and musicians alike. He's able to effortlessly make a genuine connection with whoever he interviews, be that an artist or a viewer, to get the most entertaining and insightful news.

Throughout the six years he's been with Channel [V], Danny's worked on many of the channel's flagship shows. He has toured Australia numerous times, covering some of the country's biggest festivals including Big Day Out, Homebake, Splendour in the Grass and Good Vibrations, as well as presented three series of B430, Channel [V]'s youth lifestyle show. Season One covered global festivals and Danny travelled to Ibiza Rocks in Ibiza, Creamfields in the UK and T in the Park in Scotland. In Season 2, Danny went in search of some of the best adventure experience destinations heading to Mexico and Australia's Red Centre. In 2011 for Season 3 he brought you a guide to the ultimate working holiday as a Surf Instructor in France.

Danny has also co-hosted a number of LIVE broadcasts from the Big Day Out festival and in 2009 co-hosted Channel [V]'s massive 10½ hour live broadcast Sound Relief from the Melbourne benefit concert, and before that coverage of 2007's Live Earth. Throughout his career he has interviewed some of the biggest names in music including MGMT, Katy Perry, Gossip, Kelly Clarkson, Kaiser Chiefs, Salt N Pepa, Kelly Rowland, Groove Armada, Basement Jaxx, Rammstein, Akon and Scissor Sisters, to name just a few.

In 2009, Danny was runner up in CLEO Bachelor of the Year. He has also had regular guest appearances on Mornings with Kerri-Anne and The Morning Show where he delivered the latest entertainment and music news. In 2010, he was a regular guest entertainment reporter on Hey Hey It's Saturday.

Danny's talent, however, is not just limited to television presenting. Aside from hosting, he is building his skills as a producer, as well as DJing. In August 2010, Danny shot and produced his first 30min show Hanging with... Splendour in the Grass.

Danny Clayton's carefree, adventure-loving personality coupled with his no fear approach to crowd surfing or dancing on stage in front of thousands of people, makes him stand out as a voice for the Channel [V] audience and a genuine leading talent on Australian television.

In 2010 Danny was nominated for two ASTRA Awards - for Favourite Personality and Most Outstanding Performance by a Presenter.

Each week Danny Clayton delivers the newest and hottest clips as voted by Channel [V] viewers in [V] Rater. He also co-hosts Channel [V]'s weekly LIVE pop culture show, The Riff every Thursday at 4.30pm.
