Testimonials

"Dry July funds have greatly benefited patients and their families. Patients now want to go outside or to the lounges to spend more time with their families and every bit helps. The TV is great, a lot more people want to use the rooms and can now sit in comfort, it’s the little things to them that matter."

Hospital Nurse, Canberra Hospital, Canberra

"Through Dry July [funding], the Dreams2Live4 committee at the Prince of Wales Hospital Foundation have just helped me be able to see a dear friend I have known for 8 years this year that I have never met. Strange I know, but, we have known each other via internet and phone and have gone through so much together, but due to either financial reasons or health (I myself have health issues) we have never been able to get to actually meet. You have made two women very happy and excited. We thank DRY JULY from the bottoms of our hearts."

Vicki Stokes, cancer patient, Prince Of Wales Hospital, Sydney

"As General Manager of the Prince of Wales Hospital Randwick I would like to thank you on behalf of the staff and patients of our Cancer Centre, for making a difference through the DRY JULY challenge. We appreciate you taking the time not to drink for a whole month and through your friends and family, raising an incredible amount of money for our cancer patients. Your generosity has enabled the staff to receive fantastic new equipment and to treat patients in a more relaxed and calming environment. Thank you"

Andrew Bernard, General Manager, Prince of Wales Hospital

"Dry July fundraising has really helped the lives of people going through something quite traumatic with the purchase of new oncology equipment. It was very exciting when the treatment chairs arrived as they are larger and have given patients more comfort as they reach to ground level and can increase in height for the nurses to work. They are also easier for staff to care for the patients especially if they need to do resuscitations. The exercise bikes and computers also give Mater patients a distraction and help with their fitness while they are sitting in the chairs for up to eight hours."
